OFFICERS
Dr. Marshall Mitzman - President
The Honorable Dr. Marshall Mitzman is a Trustee of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District and comes to the Arc with a determination to see that the local community colleges address the needs of people with developmental disabilities.
Pastor Betty Clark - Vice President
Reverend Clark is the founding Pastor of The Church Without Walls in Oakland where she has served for ten years. She has worked as a Hospice Chaplain for sixteen years and is currently working as one of two full time Chaplains at Sutter VNA & Hospice in Emeryville. She is a member and the past president of the Saint Luke Society and the first woman to serve in that position. Pastor Betty is the mother of three, grandmother of eight and the great grandmother of two.
Steven Dietsch - Secretary
Steve is a Principal at DivcoWest and also serves as the Real Estate Investment Firm's Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Dietsch received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Accounting from Purdue University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He joined the Board in 2004.
Nunzio (Bob) Perrotti - Treasurer
Bob has an adult son in the Union City Vocational Developmental Training Center and is a long-time advocate for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. He has served as Executive Director of The Arc of Alameda County, President of its Board of Directors, President of the Regional Center of the East bay and President of Arc California. He is also a familiar face in the halls of the State Capitol. Before retiring, Bob worked for The Singer Company and The Xerox Corporation in Executive Management Financial positions.

Allan Hauskens
Allan founded Diablo Valley Educational Therapy to address problems he saw in the education of students with learning disabilities. As both a teacher and parent of students with learning disabilities, he helps parents, educators and students develop the specialized skills they need to succeed. He also chairs our Program Committee.
James McGoff
Jim spent 4 years in the Air Force and then 38 years with United Airlines as an Inspector and Lead Mechanic. He has been married to the same woman for over 45 years. Jim's sister works at the Union City Vocational Development Center. He has been involved with fund raising for the Union City Center for several years and joined the Board in 2007.
Claudia Qutob
Claudia Qutob is a business banker for Comerica Bank in Pleasanton. She has volunteered at the Livermore vocational center in the past year where she and her colleagues taught banking classes to clients. That experience led her to join the Board in order to be more involved with the organization. Claudia serves on the Finance Committee.
Jean Rolf
Jean Rolf joined the parent group in Hayward in 1953 when her Down syndrome daughter was 2 1/2 yrs. old. Her self-assigned task was to educate the public about people with developmental disabilities and their need for education. Jean and her group established a Nursery School class for 4 to 8 yr. olds, and a program forthose over 18, to supplement what was being done in the public schools. Her group was also successful in establishing the Walpert Center to house the programs. Most of her adult years were spent on volunteer work, but Jean was employed for ten years at the Co-op Credit Union.
Joan Taugher
Joan Taugher is one of the original members of the Walpert Center Board of Directors becoming active in the 1950s when she assumed responsibility for her brother who has a developmental disability. Joan was a key player in building the Walpert Center in Hayward and then in helping to develop the early programs offered by The Arc. She held a position on the Arc Board of Directors in the 1990s, served as president of the local organization and was active at the State and National Levels. She rejoined the Board in 2010 and is Chair of the Membership Committee.
Dr. Sarah Taylor
Sarah Taylor, MSW, Ph.D. joined the Arc Board of Directors in September of 2010. She is a faculty member in the Department of Social Work at the California State University, East Bay. Her research focuses on mental health, disability and the LGBTQ community. She has published numerous articles in journals such as Qualitative Social Work, Children and Youth Services Review and Social Work in Mental Health. Dr. Taylor lives in Alameda and is the parent of a child with an intellectual disability.
Alice Thomason
Alice Thomason served for a number of years with her mother, Jean Rolf, on the Walpert Center Board of Directors and retired when the Board dissolved in 2010 and handed the assets to The Arc. She graciously agreed to serve on the Arc Board to ensure a smooth transition.
